 Smallmouth Bass Fishing on Lake St. Clair

Smallmouth bass fishing on Lake St. Clair is our primary focus when it comes to bass fishing. Lake St. Clair is one of, if not the best smallmouth fishery in the country. Though 20 to 25 fish per day is the normal, at times 50 or more fish per day is possible. The average sizes of the smallmouth are 2 to 3 pounds with some 3 to 4 pound fish mixed in. Occasionally, 5 plus pound fish are caught. Most of our Smallmouth trips are on Lake St. Clair, however, at times we will fish Lake Erie or the Detroit River if we feel the fishing is better at one of those locations. We always fish the areas that give our clients the best fishing opportunities. Please note that all bass fishing is catch and release.

 
 
 
 
 

Smallmouth and Largemouth bass fishing on Michigan's In-land Lakes

If you like exploring and fishing new and different waters, try one of our "Northern Bass Fishing Tours". These are multi-day trips to Michigan's northern inland lakes. These trips are a lot of fun and my personal favorites. Depending on angler preferences, Smallmouth, Largemouth, or both can be targeted. As the crew from "1 Big Fish" TV Show saw (seen above), Smallmouth aren't the only "Big Bass" in Michigan. Some of the best bass fishing in Michigan is on our in-land lakes. Take a Kid Fishing
 

To this day, I still remember the first time my dad took me fishing. I was four years old and I remember it as if it were yesterday. If you have a kid you want to take fishing, let me plan a trip for you. Generally when kids are involved, I try to schedule the trip at times when the fishing is easy, and the weather is pleasant. Kids generally have a short attention span so consistent action is what the goal is. The photo above was just such a trip. It was a beautiful August afternoon trip on the lower Detroit River. We caught about 30 Smallies and though they weren’t giants, these guys had a blast. The Musky was a nice bonus fish thrown in. What a great trip. Walleye Fishing on the Detroit River

We also offer charter fishing trips for Walleye on the Detroit River in the spring. The Detroit River sees an incredible Walleye migration every April and into May. The spring Walleye fishing is so good it attracts both professional and recreational Walleye fisherman from around the country. Spring time on the Detroit River is arguably the best Walleye fishing the U.S. has to offer.
